  • Printed Nanostructures Based Sensors for Robotic and Wearable Applications

    Tuesday | January 23, 2024 | 11:00 - 12:00

Semiconducting nanostructures such as nanowires (NWs) and Nanoribbons (NRs) have attracted significant attention for various type of sensors as they offer attractive physical, chemical and optical properties. They have been processed using conventional micro/nanofabrication as well as printing technologies. The latter is particularly attractive for electronics because of resource efficient manufacturing and the potential they hold for next development generation sustainable electronics. This talk will present the printed nanostructures-based electronic layers on different substrates and their further processing to develop sensors, energy devices, transistors and circuits in flexible form factors. The applications of these devices for Robotics, wearable and interactive systems will also be presented.

  • India's Space Journey: in National and Global Perspective

    Wednesday | January 24, 2024 | 11:00 - 12:00

The recent success in space domain by India captured the imagination of the world through the successful landing of the Chandrayaan-3 near the south pole of the moon, the mission to study sun, the Aditya-L1 placing it in the Lagrangian point L1, the mission to study Black holes, the XPoSAT, the human spaceflight initiative through Gaganyaan etc. These accomplishments brought to focus the comparative attributes of space technology developments in India especially the long-term vision, its scale of activities, comparison with other space faring nations, the potential of this domain to influence the technology, business, life of our countrymen and inspirational elements to the youth.

  • Nurturing Innovation and Entrepreneurship in University Eco-Systems

    Tuesday | January 23, 2024 | 14:00 - 14:45

Over the last decade driving start-up at universities have become a norm. India has about 1000 incubators, funded by the Government. They do incubate many start-ups and fund them. But very few succeed even marginally. As soon as funds run out, most of these start-ups fold up. The incubation process has become very mechanical and most of these incubators do not understand what it takes to nurture start-ups. This talk is what it takes to successfully nurture innovation and start-ups.
